Scenario: 歌手になるのが夢で、最近プロのレッスンを受け始めた。最近、自分の歌を動画で流してみたが、結構厳しいコメントをされて落ち込んでいる。今日はこうコメントされた。

【ポイント】「ライン(line)」の様々な意味と使い方。

「線」の種類は次のようなものがあります。

直線　→　a straight line
点線　→　a dotted line
白線　→　a white line
ゴールライン　→　a finishing line
切り取り線　→　a cut here line

今日のフレーズにある、"line"はこれらの「線」とは違う意味を持っているものです。

① 一列に並んでいるもの

There was a line of fir trees on either side of the road.
道の両側にはもみの木がズラーっと植えられていた。
