英語学習に歌はよい素材だと思いますが、選ぶのが意外と難しいです。自分が好きな歌だけではなく、英語学習の観点から考えて、覚えて一緒に歌えて、単語が増え、ナチュラルな表現が身に付き、文法的にもなるべく正確であるものを選びたいと考えています。

今日のブログは、今年のシメとして、ティム・マクグロウというアメリカのカントリーシンガーの"If you're reading this"という歌を選びました。歌自体は古いですが、戦争の悲しみが心にささる歌です。

歌詞は手紙形式で書かれています。兵士は戦場でいつ命を落すかもしれない状況で、家族に当てた手紙をポケットに入れているそうです。

歌詞は、動画の後に書きました。日本語訳は付けなかった方がよかったかもしれません。。。
